APPROVED GUARANTORS FOR APPLICATIONS LODGED IN THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND
 

Your guarantor must meet ONE OF THE TWO requirements listed below:

1. Be an Australian citizen who holds a current, valid Australian passport that had at least 2 years validity at date of issue. They must have known you for at least 12 months. They must not be related to you by birth, marriage or defacto relationship (this includes a same sex relationship) and they must not live at the same address as you. All guarantors must provide a daytime telephone number and be readily contactable. If we cannot contact your guarantor, you may be asked to provide a new guarantor page and newly endorsed photographs.

OR

2. Be someone who currently works in one of the following occupational categories and has known you for at least 12 months (they do not have to be an Australian citizen). They must not be related to you by birth, marriage or defacto relationship (this includes a same sex relationship) and they must not live at the same address as you. All guarantors must provide a daytime telephone number and be readily contactable. If we cannot contact your guarantor, you may be asked to provide a new guarantor page and newly endorsed photographs.

Please note from 1 November 2012 applications with either Police Officers or Registered Medical Practitioners as guarantors will no longer be accepted.

2. BANK MANAGERS, EXCEPT MANAGERS OF BANK TRAVEL CENTRES

3. BARRISTERS, SOLICITORS

4. CHARTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS

5. CLERKS OF COURT

6. DENTISTS

7. JUDGES

8. MARRIAGE CELEBRANTS

9. PHARMACISTS

10. POSTAL MANAGERS

11. PUBLIC SERVANTS – CURRENTLY FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES WHO HAVE BEEN EMPLOYED CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST FIVE YEARS BY THEIR CURRENT EMPLOYER (EXCLUDING GARDAI)

12. TEACHERS – WHO ARE FULL TIME AND WHO HAVE BEEN TEACHING FOR MORE THAN FIVE YEARS AT SCHOOLS OR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

13. REGISTERED VETERINARY SURGEONS

14. REGISTERED NURSES
