To obtain an Australian police check you need to apply online through the Australian Federal Police website. Click on the option that reads 'National Police Checks' on the right-hand side of the screen. You will then see the instructions to apply for one.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has advised that they have restricted access to printing of National Police Certificates (NPCs) to mitigate the risk of fraud. Clients requiring legalisation (Apostille or Authentication) or certified copies of AFP NPCs must request a hard copy version from AFP to present to the notarial officer at the Australian Embassy in Dublin.
